When a 15-year-old Arundhati Reddy captained Hyderabad’s U19 Women’s team, she was already destined for big things in the world of cricket. Arundhati’s cricketing journey began when her mother, a former semi-professional volleyball player, recognised her talent at a very young age and pushed her to pursue cricket more seriously. Switching to fast bowling after initially wanting to become a wicket-keeper, Arundhati made a mark in domestic cricket and went on to make her international debut in the T20 format in September 2018.
She played for India in the two subsequent ICC T20 World Cups in 2018 and 2020, before also representing the country in the 2024 edition. Arundhati was also part of the Delhi Capitals (DC) squads that played three consecutive finals in the first three seasons of the league, with the 2024 edition being her most impressive as a bowler. In 2025, she was part of the Indian team that won their maiden ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup title. Known for her ability to swing the ball and bowl a mean yorker, Arundhati is also quite handy with the bat in hand.
