A multi-skilled and dynamic all-rounder, Nitish Kumar Reddy has rapidly emerged as one of Indian cricket's most exciting prospects. Hailing from Visakhapatnam, Reddy made headlines with a record-breaking 441-run knock in the 2017-18 Vijay Merchant Trophy. He has hit a triple century earlier in the tournament. Reddy finished with a staggering 1,237 runs that season and received the BCCI Under 16 best cricketer award. Reddy's meteoric rise saw him become a vital part of Andhra side in domestic cricket before being bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2023 IPL Auction. He made his mark in the next season itself, earning the Emerging Player award for his crucial all-round contributions.
An international call-up followed and Reddy grabbed the opportunity with both hands, smashing 74(35) and picking up two wickets in just his second T20I, against Bangladesh. He started off in style in the Test arena, hitting a magnificent fighting century, walking in at No.8, against Australia at the MCG in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, becoming the third-youngest Indian to score a Test century in Australia. He put in vital gritty performances with the bat in the series to lead India's fight in the series.
