Hailing from Delhi, Harshit Rana is one of India’s most exciting young right-arm fast bowlers. With genuine pace, bounce, and the ability to hit the deck hard, he swiftly climbed through Delhi’s age-group levels in 2022. Later that year, he made his first-class and List A debuts and grabbed 21 wickets in just five Ranji Trophy matches, proving his red-ball temperament.
In mid-2023, Harshit revealed his batting potential in the Duleep Trophy, smashing an unbeaten 122 off 86 balls from No. 9 for North Zone, featuring nine sixes. He went on to represent India A at the ACC Emerging Men’s Cup and toured South Africa in 2023–24, signalling his growing readiness for international cricket.
Harshit was instrumental in KKR’s IPL 2024 title run, finishing as the team’s joint second-highest wicket-taker with 19 scalps. His consistent rise earned him an India debut in December 2024 against Australia in a Test match during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Early in 2025, he made his T20I and ODI debuts against England. He was also part of India’s victorious champions trophy squad in 2025. Later in the year, Harshit recorded his career-best figures of 4/39 in the final ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground against Australia during India’s limited overs tour down under. As he continues to evolve, Harshit Rana looks set to be a vital force in India’s fast-bowling lineup for years to come.
