A stylish multi-format batter and a technically sound wicket-keeper, Dhruv Jurel has already impressed at the international stage. Along with his skills with the bat and behind the stumps, a young Jurel also showcased his leadership qualities, guiding India to the Under-19 Asia Cup title in 2019. Such was the talent at his disposal that the Rajasthan Royals picked Jurel for the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) edition, even though Jurel had not played much domestic cricket until then.
He produced a couple of strong seasons in domestic cricket, including a superb double-hundred in only his sixth first-class match for Uttar Pradesh in the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy season. A decent 2023 IPL season followed, during which he impressed as a finisher. It did not take long for the Agra-born Jurel to fulfil his dream of representing India, making his Test debut in February 2024 in the home series against England. He was adjudged the Player of the Match in only his second Test match. Jurel, who made his T20I debut later that year, scored his maiden international hundred during the Test series against West Indies in October 2025, and cemented his name as one of the highly regarded young Indian players.
